Making $500k in Highschool
At 17 years old, I bought my first storage facility with my Dad’s help.
The only issue was that I was still in an Oregon high school, and my facility (Lady Lake Self Storage) was across the country in Florida. And I had no idea how to run a self-storage facility, so I learned on the job.
Two years later:
– I coded my tools for automating the facility and online marketing.
– I transitioned Lady Lake Self Storage from paper leases and cash payments to e-signature and auto-payments by card
– I grew from 60% to 96% occupancy and sold the facility for a $500k profit
When I was ready to buy my next facility, I decided to build my own self-storage software using the smart tools I had made so that other self-storage owners could use them to succeed, too.
